Dr. Aditya Kulkarni is a Best Surgical Gastroenterologist, Robotic Cancer Surgeon, Advanced Laparoscopic Cancer Surgeon in Pune,Maharashtra, who is Qualified and Experienced in Gastrointestinal Cancer Surgery,at the renowned Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune.
He has completed his super specialization (M.Ch.) in Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary-pancreatic Surgery from the world-renowned Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research i.e. PGI, Chandigarh. Further, he completed the renowned Vattikuti Fellowship in Robotic Surgical Oncology at Mazumdar Shaw Cancer Centre, Narayana Health City, Bengaluru, which is one of the highest volume robotic surgery hospitals in India.
He is the only GI surgeon in Pune who has completed this dedicated fellowship in robotic surgical oncology. He is an accredited daVinci robotic surgeon. Prior to this, he completed his M.B.B.S. and M.S. (General Surgery) from prestigious B.J. Medical College and Sassoon Hospital, Pune, where he also worked as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. Dr. Kulkarni was fortunate enough to be trained at the best institutes in India and abroad. He has received training from the best laparoscopic surgeons in Pune and India.
He has a vast experience in more than 1000 gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgical procedures. He has an experience of more than 200 major robotic surgical procedures for cancer. He was a vital part of the robotic GI surgery team that has performed the largest number of totally robotic Whipple’s operations in India till date. He specializes in robotic and laparoscopic surgery for cancer of esophagus (food-pipe), stomach, large intestine (colon and rectum), pancreas, gallbladder, and liver. He is regarded to be the best laparoscopic and robotic gastrointestinal cancer surgeon in Pune.
In addition to Robotic Surgery he is renowned for robotic and laparoscopic surgeries for benign diseases such as bariatric surgery for weight loss,
He has an extensive research background and has authored multiple book chapters, peer-reviewed publications and invited reviews in national and international journals. He is the recipient of ICMR and IHPBA travel grants for young researchers.
He has made presentations at several national and international conferences such as HPB Surgery World Congress (Geneva, Switzerland), Digestive Disease Week (Washington DC), HPB surgery Week (Seoul, South Korea), and Asia Pacific Digestive Week (Kolkata). He is the winner of the coveted BEST PAPER award category and medal of the Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology for his original research work.
